The Greek cartoonists Ghiannis Ioannou and Soloup will be interviewed by Carlo Gubitosa together with Khalid Albaih, a Sudanese artist exiled in Qatar. Representing the emergency continues: from Greece under economic siege to the catastrophe of accommodating refugees. How has drawing represented the line of the crisis? We’ll be hearing about it from Ghiannis Ioannou, founder of today’s school of Greek satire, the Athenian comics artist Soloup, who has recently written the graphic novel Aivali about the exchange of populations between Turkey and Greece after the Treaty of Lausanne, and Khalid Albaih, who through his cartoons, in the front line since the early phases of the Arab protests in 2011, depicts another vision of Africa.
19:00 | Decolonial Love – solo show, Kara Sievewright
GALLERIA MIRADA, VIA MAZZINI 83
A solo show by the Canadian artist Kara Sievewright. Kara lives in an archipelago in the North Pacific, claimed by Canada, home to the indigenous Haida people. Over and above being a comics artist and illustrator, she is an activist for people’s rights and the safeguarding of the environment. Trying to work in solidarity with the Haida and indigenous people, her comics and illustrations tell stories of ecological destruction and include fantasy stories. Not only the themes but also the style of this artist are embryonically linked to the forms and natural elements of the environment where she lives and for which she fights.

young Sabrina, with delicacy but without sweetening. Alessia di Giovanni, scriptwriter of “Piena di niente” (Full of Nothing), has rewritten four true stories, drawn with freedom and tension by
Darkam. With a finale disorienting table game.
